Green Solutions was founded with the mindset that being green does not equate to higher costs and everyone should have the opportunity to promote their environmental ideals.
That is why at Green Solutions Printing, we have made available several different environmentally preferable papers that fit your budget.
Green is a Way of life AND a business philosophy.
Much of our desire in launching our company came as a result of being discouraged with the status quo in printing. In many cases if you asked a printer for a true recycled sheet of paper, you were told that the cost would be prohibitive. The mindset is that if you want it, you are going to have to pay more for it. This is in fact true in some circumstances since a printer may only order the paper for your print job and will pass along the shipping charges associated with that order. Unfortunately, paper is heavy and must travel via freight which can be costly. That being said, since we only stock environmental papers, we have the ability to order in higher volumes leveraging off of economies of scale.
GSP has made several Eco friendly papers our house stock. We are very selective about the papers that we choose because we want to know that that it was produced in a manner in line with our company's core values and mission.
Background
We have an average of 25 years of experience per employee and a background in Environmentally Friendly Paper. We actively participate in such Non profits as Conscious Alliance, Rock the Earth, The Prout Institute and Ananda Seva.
Daniel Swantek 1978-2010
Founder Emeritus
Daniel founded this company with the conviction that quality and price were not something that you had to sacrifice when searching out sustainability. His extensive background in green organizing, non-profit fundraising and meditation instruction provided the strategic foundation for Green Solutions Printing. His core values of compassion, unity and overall development of human kind led him down the road of sustainable business. Daniel's passion, energy and desires were the driving force behind Green Solutions Printing.
As fate would have it, Daniel was taken from this earth far too soon. He passed away peacefully in his sleep in early May of 2010 as a result of an unknown heart defect. Daniel touched the lives of everyone he met and aspired to make everyone’s experiences in this lifetime more just and inspiring. He is loved by all who knew him and will be missed more than words can say.
Bob Frankel
President
Bob has worked within the green business community for many years. In 1996, he and his brother David founded Frankel Bros. Hemp Outfitters in San Francisco and they ultimately opened a boutique in the Noe Valley district offering clothing, house wares and accessories made from hemp, organic cotton and other natural products. In 2002 Bob joined on with Living Tree Paper Company working in sales and marketing. In that time he built a strong working knowledge of the paper and print industry and the responsibility in which environmentally preferable papers and sustainable printing play an ever-increasing role. Bob has served as Vice President of Rock the Earth and on the Advisory Council of Conscious Alliance. He currently serves on the board of the Hemp Industries Association.
Why Eugene?
We settled in Oregon not only because of its beauty but because its progressive attitudes toward the environment. It is not perfect, and there is work to be done but in few other places do you have an active environmental movement, sustainable business initiative, green energy programs, 10 of 1000s' of acres of forest and clean water.
